UFL’s Michigan Panthers Struggle with Low Attendance and Lack of Fan Interest

The UFL’s Michigan Panthers have struggled to win over Detroit and the state. Despite having a pair of home games to start their 2024 season, the Week 1 attendance was not great at 9,444. The following week, the attendance dropped even further to 7,475 against the Birmingham Stallions. With only one more home game scheduled for next weekend and two left in their seven-week season, it’s clear that the Panthers have yet to capture the hearts of fans in their city and state.

The only bright spot for the Panthers was Week 2 attendance in St. Louis where the Battlehawks drew over 40,000 fans. However, overall attendance was low at the other three game locations combined, with a total of just 31,318 attendees. Even though Memphis had fewer than 9,000 attendees during Week 2, D.C. Defenders had a decent turnout with over 15,000 fans. One of the main challenges facing the UFL is getting people to show up at games and maintain fan interest in order for success in weeks to come.
