Nouria Energy: Transforming the Convenience Channel with Data-Driven Strategies and AI Technologies

Nouria Energy, a Worcester-based convenience store chain, is set to be inducted into the 2024 Conexxus Hall of Fame. During the induction ceremony, Nouria Energy’s CEO discussed the shift in the convenience channel, noting that younger customers prefer convenience delivered to them rather than going into stores.

Nouria Energy is working on becoming more data-driven but faces challenges in understanding how to effectively use the data. The biggest obstacle to data awareness is cultural, as employees have not been accustomed to interpreting data before. The company emphasized the importance of knowing how to utilize data effectively to avoid wasting resources.

During the 2023 Conexxus Road Trip, Nouria Energy explored various technologies that caught their attention, including artificial intelligence, computer vision, consumer and retail media networks, and electric vehicles. To overcome time constraints for new features, the company is considering alternative POS systems and cloud-based solutions. However, Nouria Energy expressed concerns about the lack of control over security with cloud-based solutions.

As part of their marketing strategy to engage with younger consumers, Nouria Energy’s team highlighted the increased risk associated with collecting and protecting data. The 2024 Conexxus Annual Conference will take place from April 28 through May 2 at Live! By Loews Arlington. The 2025 conference will be held in Tucson, Arizona at the end of January next year.
