After collapsing during a Serie A match against Udinese, Roma defender Evan Ndicka has been released from the hospital. The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international experienced chest pains on the field but tests showed that he did not have a heart attack.

Roma praised Udinese and the referee for their professionalism during the incident, as well as the hospital staff in Udine for their care. The club emphasized the importance of putting life first and highlighted the values of sportsmanship demonstrated in the situation.

The Serie A game was halted after Ndicka’s collapse in the 72nd minute, with the score tied at 1-1, and the remaining portion of the match will be rescheduled for a later date. Ndicka, who joined Roma from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023 on a free transfer, has made 19 appearances for the club. Following his collapse, his teammates visited him in the hospital, where he was reported to be feeling better. Striker Romelu Lukaku had scored for Roma to equalize after Roberto Pereyra had given Udinese an early lead in the game.
