In honor of the 172nd anniversary of its founding, President Sergio Mattarella has issued a heartfelt message to the members of the State Police. He highlighted the core values that have made the Corps a vital institution in Italian society, including civil passion, ethical rigor, professionalism, technical specialization, and loyalty to constitutional principles.

President Mattarella recognized the challenges that the State Police face in fighting organized crime, terrorism, violence, and aggression, especially against women. However, he praised their dedication to ensuring security and responding to new threats in the digital environment such as cybercrime and cyberbullying.

In addition to their efforts in maintaining public order and guaranteeing people’s rights against abuse and intimidation, President Mattarella commended the State Police for their role in managing migration and promoting respect for rules and fair competition. He also expressed gratitude for their engagement with young people through sports initiatives.

The President honored those who have given their lives in service and extended warm wishes for a Happy Anniversary to all members of the State Police and their families.
