In Mississippi, Ole Miss emerged victorious over Southern Miss in a softball game at the Ole Miss Softball Complex. Lexie Brady and Angelina DeLeon led the charge, with Brady hitting her team-leading 13th home run of the season, which was the third most by a player in a single season in program history. DeLeon also had a two-hit night, hitting her second home run of the season. Grace Sparks pitched well, striking out five batters over 3.2 innings to improve her record to 6-1. Brianna Lopez finished off the game to secure the win for Ole Miss.

Ole Miss started off strong, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a commanding lead over Southern Miss. However, Southern Miss tied things up in the second inning with some impressive play. But Sparks came into the game and put on an effective performance to keep things level between the two teams. It wasn’t until the fourth inning that Ole Miss broke free from their opponents once again with two more runs thanks to hits from DeLeon and Ryan Starr. Lassiter then delivered a crucial two-run single to give Ole Miss a 5-3 advantage over SouthernMiss.

DeLeon continued to be instrumental in OleMiss’s success as she hit another home run in the sixth inning, making it 7-3. And finally, Lopez closed out the game with an impressive seventh-inning performance, securing victory forOleMiss once again. The Rebels will now face Auburn during Senior Weekend on April 26-28 for their next big matchup against fellow SEC teams
