A recent survey by ABC News/Ipsos showed that more Americans trust former President Trump over President Biden when it comes to the economy and inflation. According to the poll, 88% of respondents said the economy was a crucial factor in determining their vote, while 85% said the same for inflation.

When it comes to the economy, 46% of Americans stated that they trust Trump, versus 32% who trust Biden. Additionally, 44% of respondents said they trust Trump to handle inflation, with only 30% expressing the same trust in Biden. A significant portion, 25%, stated that they trust neither candidate on the issue of inflation.

The financial situation of respondents since Biden assumed office was also touched upon by the poll. 43% said they are not as well off financially, 40% said they are about the same, and 16% reported being better off. The poll presented a hypothetical scenario where Biden and Trump would go head-to-head in an election. Among all adults surveyed, Trump had 46% support while Biden had 44%. However, among registered voters, Biden led with 46% support over Trump’s 45%. Among likely voters, Biden received 49% support compared to Trump’s 45%.
