On the weekend, a Labrador retriever caused quite a stir in Carmel, Indiana. According to the Carmel Fire Department, the incident occurred at Canine Cloud Nine, a local dog grooming business located at 885 Monon Green Blvd. The alarm was triggered sometime before 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found that there was no actual fire at the business. Workers at Canine Cloud Nine explained that a client had been ready to leave and their black lab named Bear had pulled the alarm to speed up the process. The fire department quickly took to social media to share the amusing story.

The post detailed how Bear had been responsible for triggering the false alarm and officials spoke with all of the dogs at the grooming business about not doing it again. The dogs, including Bear, promised to keep their paws off of any emergency equipment in the future.

While waiting for maintenance to arrive and reset the alarm, fire crews spent some quality time playing with the dogs at Canine Cloud Nine. This unique incident ended without any harm done and provided everyone involved with a lighthearted moment amidst a busy day.

The fire department’s post received an outpouring of comments from people who were impressed by Bear’s quick thinking and bravery in pulling an alarm to help others. It just goes to show that even in unexpected situations, we can find humor and positivity if we choose to look for it!
