Caitlin Clark has been invited to join the U.S.A. Basketball national team training camp during the Final Four in Cleveland, provided that Iowa’s season comes to an end. As the NCAA’s all-time Division I scoring leader, Clark has already won three gold medals with U.S.A. Basketball junior teams, most recently as part of the 2021 under-19 squad. The roster for the U.S. team is expected to be announced later this spring.

Clark is predicted to be the top pick in the upcoming WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever on April 15th. She has been a significant draw for college basketball, with nearly 5 million viewers tuning in to watch her and her teammates take on West Virginia in their second-round matchup last year. The training camp will feature nine former Olympians like Diana Taurasi, Ariel Atkins, Chelsea Gray, Brittney Griner, Jewell Loyd, Kelsey Plum, Breanna Stewart, A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young among others notable players such as former WNBA Rookie of the Year recipients Aliyah Boston and Rhyne Howard, along with Sabrina Ionescu and Shakira Austin will also be present at this camp.

Recently, the U.S team triumphed in a FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Belgium securing victories over host nation Nigeria and Senegal. The team has dominated women’s basketball at the Olympics since 1996 and they are set to face Belgium, Japan and Germany in pool play in upcoming Olympics.

The anticipation of the U.S team roster being revealed later this spring is building up excitement for both training camp and Olympic games ahead.
