In the past year, there has been a significant push to improve diagnostics in healthcare systems worldwide. As the world gathers for the 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva, experts will focus on addressing some of the most pressing health challenges. Access to diagnostics remains a major issue, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, due to fragmented supply chains and market barriers.

Threats like HIV, tuberculosis, emerging infectious diseases, and antimicrobial resistance require accurate and rapid diagnostic tests for effective treatment and care. However, despite efforts to optimize diagnostic networks through processes like diagnostic network optimization (DNO), much of the information collected is not fully utilized, hindering progress.

On May 30th, Foreign Policy and Cepheid will host an event to discuss ways to leverage DNO insights for better pathogen detection, strengthening global health systems, achieving universal health coverage, and combating antimicrobial resistance. The event will take place from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM CET on May 30th, 2024. This event is a unique opportunity for experts in the field to come together and share their knowledge and insights on how we can improve diagnostics and ultimately improve overall health outcomes around the world.
