Nordea has reported issues with the removal of some margin provisions for card purchases this week. These errors have resulted in a situation where both margin provisions and debits are showing on bank accounts connected to the cards. A margin reservation is a hold placed on funds for a future debit from the account balance, which should be removed once the transaction is processed.

Nordea acknowledges that there have been delays in removing margin reservations in some cases, even when the merchant has already charged for the purchase. However, the bank assures customers that excess margin provisions will be automatically removed from accounts over the weekend without any action required on their part. The bank has identified the issue at the beginning of the week and is working to rectify it.

According to Nordea, these additional margin provisions for card payments only impact a small segment of its customers. The bank is taking steps to address these delays and ensure a smooth experience for all cardholders.
