In a meeting of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council, emphasized the importance of providing comfort for citizens to ensure their social stability. He mentioned that integrating, diversifying, and sustaining projects will enhance development and prosperity opportunities by driving comprehensive development.

The meeting discussed key developments in government work progress in the emirate, service plans, and development initiatives. It also covered projects aimed at meeting citizens’ needs, improving living conditions through infrastructure development, and enhancing the quality and efficiency of services provided to society members. His Highness approved a tourism sector strategy for the emirate aiming to attract 39.3 million visitors, create 178 thousand new job opportunities, and increase the sector’s contribution to the emirate’s non-oil GDP to 90 billion dirhams by 2030.

His Highness commended the efforts of the tourism sector authorities in the emirate for achieving positive results and outstanding performance in 2023. The strategy aims to transform the social and economic landscape of Abu Dhabi based on sustainable development trends and align with the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 to develop talents and competencies in tourism and enhance its role in supporting the emirate’s economic growth.

The approved strategy will support private sector investments in tourism development through incentive initiatives and programs. It will promote sustainable tourism initiatives, use innovative solutions to enhance services, diversify tourist attractions, and ensure the growth of the tourism sector in Abu Dhabi in line with the emirate’s economic ambitions.
