Back-to-Back Flights on British Airways and Finnair: A Journey through Similarities and Differences

Recently, I had the opportunity to fly back-to-back on two European flag carriers: British Airways and Finnair. Although British Airways is larger, both airlines offer long-haul flights between Europe and the US, with hubs in London and Helsinki, respectively. The flights were not originally planned so close together, but thanks to some last-minute schedule changes, I found myself crossing the Atlantic twice in two weeks.

The coach seats on both airlines were comparable, with good space and comfort. However, I found myself enjoying Finnair flights more than British Airways. The service and overall experience on Finnair was slightly better, making the long flights more enjoyable. On the other hand, British Airways still provided a decent flight experience.

Despite their similarities, each airline had its unique strengths. Finnair had a slight edge in terms of service and experience, while British Airways still provided a decent flight experience. Traveling back-to-back on these flag carriers gave me a unique perspective on their services and helped me better understand what each airline has to offer. While I wouldn’t hesitate to book with either airline again if the price was right, I would consider flying with Finnair for its slightly better service and experience.
