The quality of work and corporate well-being in Lombardy is unmatched in the rest of the country. This is according to a recent analysis conducted by the CGIA Research Office, which looked at data from the BES (Sustainable Fair Wellbeing) report presented by Istat. While other regions in Italy, such as the Autonomous Province of Bolzano and Veneto, came close behind, Lombardy still stood out as the best performer.

In southern Italy, however, performance was much lower. The regions of Sicily, Calabria, and Basilicata finished in the last three spots on the national ranking. Despite efforts to improve corporate well-being among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in these areas, there has been a trend of employees leaving permanent jobs for better opportunities elsewhere. As demand remains low while supply increases rapidly, companies are at risk of losing their top talent to competitors.

According to INPS data, voluntary resignations among private permanent employees under 60 years old have increased significantly. Many are opting for new job opportunities that offer higher salaries and less stressful working environments. In response to this trend, companies must focus on creating a positive and competitive work environment if they want to retain their valuable employees.
