The College Basketball Crown is a new tournament that will take place in Las Vegas from March 31 to April 6, 2025. The tournament aims to create an exciting men’s postseason tournament during the week leading up to the NCAA Final Four. Fox Sports has partnered with live event promoter AEG to introduce this new tournament, which will join other postseason contests like the National Invitation Tournament, College Basketball Invitational, and CollegeInsider.com Tournament in attracting basketball fans.

The College Basketball Crown will consist of at least two teams each from the Big East, Big 12, and Big Ten conferences, with the remaining spots in the 16-team field filled by a selection committee. Teams that do not qualify for the NCAA Tournament will also be eligible to participate, with Fox and FS1 set to televise the games.

Fox Sports executive vp Jordan Bazant expressed excitement about the new tournament, highlighting the opportunity to enhance the postseason college basketball experience for both student-athletes and viewers. AEG chief revenue officer Todd Goldstein echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the unique experiences and benefits that the College Basketball Crown will bring to fans and the broader sports landscape.
