With a history dating back 95 years, the store has been in the same location since 1929 and offers sizes ranging from 7-22 in men’s sizes and 7-14 in ladies sizes. The business has gained even more attention due to being featured in an episode of ESPN’s 30 for 30.

Friedman’s is not only known for its large range of sizes but also as the go-to place for professional athletes to find the shoes they need. While the store is best known for its selection of large size shoes, it carries all sizes for both men and women. The decision to do business in Downtown Atlanta was a family affair for the Teilhaber family. Brett’s grandfather opened a shoe repair business in the area in 1929, and his father purchased the store in the 70s. All four sons now work in the family business, along with a total of eight employees.

For Teilhaber, being in Downtown Atlanta brings back fond memories of coming Downtown to watch games for the Braves, Falcons, Hawks, and Flames/Thrashers. He is especially excited about the future of Downtown Atlanta as he never thought he would see the transformation happening in his lifetime.
