The Technology Modernization Fund (TMF) has announced that it will be investing in NASA to enhance its network cybersecurity and improve performance, in order to better serve the agency’s missions and information technology infrastructure. This investment is crucial for NASA, as it plays a significant role in partnering with international space agencies and researchers, and safeguarding its valuable data.

NASA Chief Information Officer Jeff Seaton highlighted the critical role that the agency’s IT infrastructure plays in every aspect of its mission. He emphasized that protecting and evolving this infrastructure is a top priority for NASA, and the TMF funding will enable the agency to accelerate key cybersecurity and operational upgrades ahead of schedule.

In addition to NASA, the TMF, led by the Technology Modernization Board, will also invest in the Department of Labor to help streamline the delivery of injured worker assistance. This funding will support the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs in replacing the outdated Integrated Federal Employee Compensation System (iFECS).
