The Southeast Bulloch High School STEM Club made history at the Georgia Science Olympiad, winning the Class A state championship. The event took place on March 30 at the Georgia Institute of Technology, with students from the club earning medals in 14 out of the 24 individual events.

The STEM Club’s success is a testament to their hard work, collaboration, and dedication to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Danielle Hibbs-Heiser, a science teacher at Southeast Bulloch and the club’s STEM coach, praised the students for their outstanding performance. “This is an incredible accomplishment,” she said. “The Georgia Science Olympiad provides a competitive platform for students to collaborate and expand their knowledge in STEM. It is open to students in grades 3-12 and offers various competitions throughout the year.”

Several student teams excelled and earned medals in their respective categories. Joseph Reddin (12) and Krupa Pandya (11) took first place in Detector Building. Isabelle Cruz (11) and John Toole (10) secured first place in Dynamic Planet. Chris Reyes (11) and Ethan Pryor (10) won first place in Flight.
