The charges against Rashee Rice have raised concerns about his standing in the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy stated that the league is closely monitoring the situation, and they have not yet taken any disciplinary action.

Rice faces eight felony charges, including six counts of collision involving bodily injury, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and one count of aggravated assault. There is also a possibility of additional charges for leaving the scene of an accident involving injury.

The Chiefs have been keeping a close eye on this case and are considering their options carefully. One possibility is that they could request that Rice skips the offseason program if needed. In 2019, they handled a similar situation with Tyreek Hill by keeping him away from offseason workouts while authorities looked into an incident involving his son. Hill was ultimately not charged in that case.

If Rice is found guilty of these charges, it could lead to significant consequences for him both personally and professionally. The Chiefs have the option to release him, which would avoid paying him while he is unavailable to play. However, this decision may be difficult given Rice’s status as a key player on the team and his guaranteed salary of $1.045 million for 2024.

As of Wednesday night, the Chiefs have not provided any further comments on the situation or indicated what action they plan to take next.
