In response to the Medicaid eligibility redetermination process that resumed in April 2023, Nevada Health Link has announced an extension of its special enrollment period through the end of November. This extension is for individuals who no longer qualify for Medicaid or CHIP and have lost their benefits more than 60 days prior.

Since Nevada Medicaid began redetermining eligibility, only around 4% of individuals who were deemed ineligible for benefits have enrolled in a plan through Nevada Health Link. Russell Cook, Executive Director of Nevada Health Link, noted that one challenge for those who have lost Medicaid is the lack of a current mailing address on file with Medicaid, which may prevent them from receiving their termination letter and being aware of the end of their coverage.

Nevadans who have lost Medicaid coverage are encouraged to contact Nevada Health Link for enrollment support. They can visit the website or call 1-800-547-2927 for assistance. Copyright 2024 KOLO. All rights reserved.
