Kiersten Johnson, a small business owner from Detroit, recently attended the “NFL Draft Small Business Pregame” workshop alongside other entrepreneurs seeking to maximize the economic opportunities presented by the upcoming NFL Draft in the city. The workshop, which is part of a series aimed at helping small business owners use online tools from Google, is designed to give them a competitive edge and attract customers during the event.

Johnson, who has been running her bakery “Cookies by Kiersten” since 2009, is excited about the possibility of serving customers who will be visiting Detroit for the NFL Draft. She hopes to position her business on Google to make it easily accessible to the influx of people expected to descend on the city. With hotels in downtown Detroit and surrounding counties expected to be sold out and hundreds of thousands of visitors attending the draft, small business owners like Johnson are eager to capitalize on this opportunity.
