Ferrari, an iconic Italian sports car maker, and SK On, a leading electric vehicle battery manufacturer affiliated with SK Group, have announced a partnership to drive innovation in battery cell technology. The memorandum of understanding was signed at SK’s headquarters building in Seoul on Tuesday, with both CEOs present at the event.

SK On and Ferrari are collaborating to explore new avenues and potential solutions to advance battery cell technology. By combining their respective expertise, the two companies plan to expand their technological collaboration and exchange valuable insights. SK On has been an exclusive battery supplier to Ferrari since 2019, providing battery cells for its plug-in hybrid electric vehicles such as the SF90 Stradale, SF90 Spider, 296 GTB, and 296 GTS.

The partnership between SK On and Ferrari is aimed at pushing the boundaries of innovation in electric vehicle technology. Lee Seok-hee, CEO of SK On expressed excitement about joining Ferrari’s electrification journey and highlighted the goal of offering customers new experiences and values through the partnership. Benedetto Vigna, CEO of Ferrari also expressed high expectations for the collaboration emphasizing the importance of shared ideas driving shared progress when companies and suppliers work together.
