The owner of a business that coordinates US infrastructure investments for foreign nationals seeking EB-5 visas is seeking to challenge a $2.5 million damages award. This decision was made after a trial court found that he had funneled funds to himself and another executive. Joseph Manheim, the owner, is fighting to remove the $442,000 in compensation he was ordered to pay to Paula Mandle, a director he appointed to a Delaware Valley Regional Center LLC affiliate.

Manheim’s attorney, Bruce Jameson of Prickett, Jones & Elliott PA, argued before the Delaware Supreme Court that Manheim should not be held liable for Mandle’s compensation. He claimed that Manheim did not require her approval for any of his decisions. The case is currently being reviewed by the court.

The Delaware Supreme Court is considering the arguments put forth by Manheim’s attorney and will make a decision on whether or not to uphold the damages award. Manheim hopes that the court will rule in his favor and remove the compensation he was ordered to pay to Mandle. The outcome of this case will have implications on how businesses operate and handle their finances in the future.

In this case, it seems that there may have been some miscommunication or misunderstanding between Manheim and Mandle regarding her role in making decisions within the company. It also raises questions about how businesses handle their finances and ensure transparency in their operations.

As we wait for the Delaware Supreme Court’s decision, it remains to be seen whether or not Manheim will be successful in challenging the damages award. If he is able to overturn it, it could set a precedent for other businesses facing similar situations.

Overall, this case highlights the importance of clear communication and accountability within businesses when it comes to handling finances and making decisions that impact employees and stakeholders alike.
