The Buffalo Bandits forwards Josh Byrne and Dhane Smith have been nominated for the National Lacrosse League’s top honor for the 2023-24 regular season – Most Valuable Player. They will be competing for the title alongside Toronto Rock goalie Nick Rose.

In addition to the MVP nomination, both Byrne and Smith are also up for Offensive Player of the Year. The Bandits’ Ian MacKay is also in the running for Transition Player of the Year.

The award winners for each category will be announced before the start of the 2024 NLL Finals. The Bandits will be facing off against the Albany FireWolves as they aim to achieve back-to-back league championships. The first game of the finals will take place on May 17 in Albany.
