The NFL is home to some of the highest paid players in the world, and quarterbacks are no exception. Currently, there are five quarterbacks making over $50 million a season, a number that is expected to increase in the near future. One such player is Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars, who is reportedly in discussions with the team regarding a contract extension that could pay him around $50 million annually.

Lawrence, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has met the high expectations set for him during his rookie season. Despite a challenging year, he excelled in 2022 with a Pro Bowl appearance and played a key role in leading the Jaguars to a division title and a playoff victory. Lawrence is approaching the final year of his rookie contract, but both he and the Jaguars are working on getting a new deal done before the 2024 season begins.

Lawrence recently addressed his contract situation, expressing his desire to remain with the Jaguars for as long as possible. He praised the organization’s direction and his personal growth, vowing that his best performances are still to come. Coming from a successful college career at Clemson, Lawrence has met the high expectations set for him during the NFL Draft. Joining an elite group of $50 million quarterbacks, Lawrence is expected to be alongside Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, and Jalen Hurts in terms of salary. Following him, Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys is another quarterback who could enter this top-tier salary range as he enters the final year of his current contract.
