Two British Airways flight attendants were recently dismissed after a video of them engaging in a racist incident went viral on social media. The video, which was recorded on an Instagram story while the attendants were on an island in the Caribbean, showed Holly Walton making a derogatory gesture and impersonating a Chinese accent. The behavior occurred during a flight between London and the Caribbean, where Walton and Lauren Bray mocked a family who spoke little English.

The incident has since led to backlash from fellow employees who eventually reported it to management, resulting in the termination of both Walton and Bray. Despite this, Bray is reportedly appealing against her dismissal, as stated by a friend in the Daily Mail. Bray had been with the airline for six years, while Walton had worked for British Airways for a decade.

British Airways has since made a statement condemning all forms of racism and expressing their commitment to taking such allegations seriously. The airline confirmed that Walton and Bray are no longer employed by them. In response to the incident, they have also launched an internal investigation into their cabin crew’s behavior and training practices to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
