Monell’s at the Manor, a popular restaurant in Nashville near the airport, has announced that it will be closing its doors for good after business on Sunday. The restaurant hosted a yard sale over the weekend, allowing customers to enjoy one last meal at the manor and also go treasure hunting for keepsakes. During the final days of operation, Monell’s at the Manor will maintain its regular hours, serving a country breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and a Sunday meal from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The decision to close was made due to the end of their lease agreement with the Metro Nashville Airport Authority. After the closure of Monell’s at the Manor on Murfreesboro Pike, diners can still visit the original Monell’s location in Germantown at 1235 Sixth Ave. N., which is historic and holds a special place in Nashville’s past. The building was originally constructed in 1898 by Col. E.W. Cole, who had previously served as a Confederate officer under Gen. Robert E. Lee, and it has since been transformed into various establishments over time, including Monell’s at present day
