Apple is currently developing a stylus that will be compatible with the Apple Vision Pro viewer, which was launched in February in the United States with a starting price of $3,499. The stylus has undergone internal testing and will have support for the operating system visionOS, which is the foundation of the Vision Pro viewer.

Apple’s venture into mixed reality (MR) was announced in June of the previous year and utilizes spatial computing technology, features a three-dimensional user interface, and allows interaction with applications using hands, voice, and eyes. The company aimed to create the most advanced consumer electronics device ever upon its announcement.

In order to enhance the capabilities of the Vision Pro viewer, Apple has developed a stylus that will be usable with drawing applications on the Vision Pro like Freeform and Pixelmator. According to a source familiar with the matter to MacRumors, this new version of the stylus will require updated software and Apple is anticipated to announce the second version of the visionOS operating system at its developer conference, WWDC, typically held in June.
