Accenture Federal Services has recently announced its acquisition of Cognosante, a provider of digital transformation and cloud modernization platforms for federal agencies. Although the financial terms have not been disclosed, it is expected that this acquisition will help Accenture expand its operations further.

Cognosante has been providing cloud migration support, program management, and technology platforms for federal health care programs since 2008. With over 1,500 personnel, the company has a strong reputation for delivering effective solutions to meet the evolving needs of their clients.

John Goodman, CEO of Accenture Federal Services and recipient of the 2024 Wash100 award, expressed his excitement about this acquisition. He highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and investment in supporting federal agencies in meeting their mission and customers’ evolving needs. Goodman expressed admiration for Cognosante’s capabilities, personnel, and impact and indicated that through this merger, the two entities will leverage technology to address national priorities.

Michele Kang, founder and CEO of Cognosante, also expressed her enthusiasm about the acquisition. She described Accenture Federal Services as an ideal fit due to its dedication to clients, employees, and industry-leading capabilities. Kang emphasized that the merger will allow for continued support in modernizing operations, enabling future missions, and positively impacting the lives of millions of individuals.
