On April 23rd, 2021, the 17th National Technical Innovation Award recognized outstanding research projects that have been successfully applied in production and have brought high economic efficiency. The contest aimed to promote the creative labor movement, encourage research and innovative solutions, and contribute to economic development.

Out of the 587 participating applications, six first prizes, twelve second prizes, twenty-four third prizes, and forty-two consolation prizes were awarded. The winning projects spanned a wide range of innovative solutions such as improving fuel export systems, designing shooting practice equipment for infantry training, applying diffusion magnetic resonance techniques in medicine, developing control modules for smart electrical devices, researching parts for production using automatic robots and painting techniques.

The winning projects showcase the diverse range of fields that Vietnam is investing in through its commitment to advancing science and technology. From optimizing production processes to improving healthcare techniques and developing smart home technologies, these projects highlight Vietnam’s dedication to innovation. The contest was organized by the Vifotec Foundation, Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee. Since its inception in 1989, the contest has received nearly 8,000 entries with close to 1,000 projects being awarded over the years.
