On Monday, Venice and Riverview faced off in the Class 2A-District 12 semifinals for boys lacrosse. The game ended with Venice emerging victorious over Riverview with a score of 11-5. Aiden Sleigher led the way for Venice with 4 goals and 3 assists, followed closely by John Ptaszek who scored 3 goals. Owen Alford had a goal and 3 assists, while Alex Denley contributed 2 goals and an assist. Alex Ptaszek made an impressive 14 saves in goal for Venice. Riverview’s Carter Unkel scored 2 goals, while JC Fleming and Jack Yochim each had a goal and 2 assists. Sean Spergl also scored for Riverview, with Dominick Speranza making 12 saves in goal.
