On Thursday, April 11, Missouri Southern State University will unveil the new Roy Blunt Health Science Innovation Center with Senator Roy Blunt as a special guest. Due to unfavorable weather conditions, the ceremony has been moved from the original outdoor location to the Taylor Performing Arts Center.

The 65,000 square-foot building is situated in the heart of the campus and will feature a simulation hospital, cadaver labs, welcome center, and additional classroom and office spaces. Several speakers are set to address the audience at the ceremony, including Dr. Dean Van Galen, president of Missouri Southern; Dr. Brad Hodson, executive vice president of Missouri Southern; Ashley Cordischi, a senior nursing student at Missouri Southern; Dr. Sherry Whiteman, chair of the allied health department at Missouri Southern; and Carlos Haley, vice-chair of the Missouri Southern Board of Governors.

Dr. Van Galen expressed his gratitude towards the State of Missouri and other partners for investing in this innovative facility that will provide valuable opportunities for students and help address critical workforce needs in the Four States region.
