On a recent day, Springfield Police Department (SPD) officers responded to a domestic violence incident at a business on Main Street. The suspect, believed to be armed, did not respond to attempts to communicate with him. In response, the SPD deployed drones and SWAT assets, with assistance from the Eugene Police Department. After some time, the suspect eventually surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody without further incident. He was then booked at the Lane County Jail and is facing charges including menacing, unlawful use of a weapon, and assault in the fourth degree.
