Prosecutors have identified Montez Brown as the first gang member to distribute illegal fentanyl in Minneapolis. Brown was sentenced to 19 years in federal prison after being found with nearly 10,000 fentanyl pills, a machine gun, a handgun with Glock switches, and a stack of money.

U.S. Attorney for Minnesota Andy Luger stated that the volume of fentanyl being brought into Minnesota by these defendants is unprecedented and harmful to communities.
