Wisk Aero, an advanced air mobility company, has entered into a strategic partnership with Sonaca, a leading major structure supplier. Under this partnership, Sonaca will develop and supply major components for Wisk’s sixth-generation autonomous air taxi. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in Sonaca’s diversification strategy and solidifies its position as a leading major structure supplier.

As part of the partnership, Sonaca will be responsible for developing and producing major primary structural assemblies for Wisk’s Gen 6 aircraft. The company has previously supported the design phase of these components and will leverage its global footprint to manufacture and supply parts from its facilities in Belgium, Brazil, Romania, and the United States.

Yves Delatte, CEO of Sonaca Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the company’s contribution to shaping a sustainable future for urban air mobility. He credited Wallonia’s support for research and innovation as instrumental in Sonaca’s success in cutting-edge technologies.

Brian Yutko, CEO of Wisk, praised Sonaca’s expertise in aircraft systems development and manufacturing, emphasizing their crucial role in the Gen 6 aircraft program. He noted that Sonaca’s capabilities have been essential in advancing Wisk’s mission of certifying an autonomous, battery electric aircraft for commercial passenger use.
