Female business owners in the small neighborhood of Waldo in south Kansas City have formed a supportive community, working together and celebrating each other’s successes. The close proximity of these businesses has led to increased collaboration and mutual benefits for all involved.

Ampersand Studio co-owner Morgan Georgie expressed her gratitude for the welcoming environment in Waldo, which has allowed her to connect with other female entrepreneurs. SOAP Refill Station owner Ann Dezort highlighted the determination and entrepreneurial spirit of women, emphasizing that women are just as capable of running successful businesses as men. Hemma Hemma, a newly opened cafeteria-style restaurant, is also part of the thriving community of women-owned businesses in Waldo. Owner Ashley Bare was pleasantly surprised by the supportive environment and looks forward to further fostering it.
