In the recent World Beer Cup competition, Lupelin Brewing from Big Lake was awarded a silver medal for their Dortmunder beer. This achievement is highly regarded in the brewing industry and serves as a testament to the exceptional quality of craft beer produced in Minnesota.

With over 9,000 entries in 110 categories, the World Beer Cup is often referred to as the Olympics of beer. This year’s competition featured exceptional talent and creativity from brewers around the globe.

Among the winners from Minnesota were Bent Paddle of Duluth and Northbound Smokehouse and Brewpub of Minneapolis, who both took home gold medals. Excelsior also received a silver medal for their fruit beer, while BeerClub of Mora and Pryes Brewing of Minneapolis won bronze medals.

Executive Director of the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild, Jess Talley, commented on the success of Minnesota breweries at the World Beer Cup. “This reinforces the fact that some of the best beer in the world is being made by local brewers in communities across our state,” Talley said. “We are proud to see our brewers recognized on a global stage.”
