The Seattle Seahawks parted ways with safety Jamal Adams on March 5, leaving him as a free agent. This marked the end of one of the worst non-quarterback trades in recent NFL history. However, despite this setback, there is speculation that the Seahawks may be open to Adams’ return.

During a radio appearance, General Manager John Schneider was asked about the possibility of Adams coming back to the team. He also mentioned keeping tabs on safety Quandre Diggs, who is also a free agent. Recent signings of veteran safeties K’Von Wallace and Rayshawn Jenkins suggest that the team is moving on from both Adams and Diggs. Julian Love will also be returning as a safety for the team.

Schneider hinted at the idea of Adams playing as a linebacker, noting that this was initially the team’s plan when they acquired him. However, last season, Adams primarily played in a different role, with only a small percentage of snaps at free safety. While Schneider did not provide clear details on the team’s interest in Adams for the upcoming season, it is likely that his cost would be significantly lower than in previous years due to his injury struggles during his time in Seattle. Despite giving up two first-round picks and signing him to a lucrative extension, Adams missed a large number of games during his time with the Seahawks.
