USD Sports Information journalist Mercede Odegaard reports that students will have more comfortable and improved seating options in the Sanford Coyote Sports Center starting from the 2024-25 academic year. Sections 104 and 105, previously reserved for bleacher seats, will now be exclusively reserved for students. This change aims to address feedback from students and provide them with a better view of the game.

Elizabeth Wiggins, president of Coyote Crazies, is thrilled about the new student section. She believes that this will enhance the game day experience by bringing students together not only with each other but also with the community. Sam Anderson, USD student and Vice President of Campus Activities Board, emphasizes the importance of diversity and inclusivity in providing a better view of the game for all students. He also highlights how this change creates new opportunities for students to engage with sports events in different ways.

Athletic Director Jon Schemmel stresses that student engagement is essential to improving seating options at USD events. He prioritizes student feedback and believes that this change will create a more interactive experience for students at sports events on campus. From now on, sections 102, 103, 104, and 105 will operate on a first-come, first-serve basis for any interested student seeking an improved seating option during games at Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
