On Sunday morning, at approximately 10 a.m., a suspect entered Dunham’s Sports in Benton Township and attempted to steal handguns by breaking the glass of the gun case. However, when store workers responded, the suspect fled without taking any firearms. This is the second attempted robbery at this store within the past six months, with two individuals being charged with kidnapping the store manager and stealing two large coolers filled with guns in December. The recent incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of the store, prompting authorities to urge anyone with information to contact the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office at (269)-983-7141. It is important for the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help prevent further criminal incidents.
