Joshua Silver, the Chief Technology Officer at Las Cruces Public Schools (LCPS), is being recognized nationally for his work in transforming education through technology. He has been named a finalist in two categories at the EDTech Awards: the 2024 EdTech Leadership Award and the EdTech Trendsetter Award. These accolades highlight educators’ contributions to revolutionizing education through technology.

Silver has also created several initiatives that showcase his commitment to using technology in education. One of these is a student technician program that allows students to intern with LCPS and learn valuable skills. Through this program, Silver hopes to build a technology pipeline for students and provide more workplace opportunities. He believes that this model could benefit other school districts as well.

In addition to the national recognition, Silver has also organized ‘The Tell the Story Film Showcase’, a student film festival held in New Mexico. He has also organized ‘Impact 24’, a regional technology conference open to all educators in southern New Mexico. These initiatives demonstrate Silver’s dedication to utilizing technology in education and providing students with opportunities to showcase their skills.
