Miller is facing a third-degree felony charge for assaulting a pregnant woman after an incident with his girlfriend while he was on a bye week in Dallas. Despite the allegations, Miller’s girlfriend later recanted her statement, and Miller maintains his innocence. He has not been formally charged with any crime.
According to the Personal Conduct Policy, a player can be placed on the Commissioner Exempt list if they are formally charged with a felony offense or a crime of violence. However, Miller recently accepted a pay cut to remain with the Bills, reducing his 2024 compensation from $17.5 million to $8.855 million. With an incentive package in place, his total payout could reach $20 million.
Turning 35 this week, Miller played limited games last season, appearing in 12 with no starts and recording three tackles with no sacks. This marked the first season in his career without a sack, despite his impressive total of 123.5 career sacks.
