David Pietrycha has been promoted to the role of chief business officer at NBCUniversal Media Group. In his new position, he will report to group chairman Mark Lazaraus and work with division leaders on resource allocation, investment choices, content rights, strategic partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, and new business development.

As the chief business officer at NBCU, Pietrycha will oversee the company’s broadcast and entertainment cable networks, direct-to-consumer businesses such as Peacock and NBC Sports properties, international networks, affiliate relations, content distribution, and advertising sales. Lazaraus commended Pietrycha for his valuable partnerships, insights, relationships and creative thinking in growing and evolving the television and streaming business model.

Prior to this promotion, Pietrycha served as the Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development within NBCUniversal Media Group. In this role he oversaw strategy for major sports rights negotiations including NFL NASCAR WWE. He also played a key role in cultivating new business opportunities such as NBC affiliate renewals.

In his earlier career Pietrycha held the position of chief financial officer for NBC Sports Group and financial leadership roles within the NBC News Group and NBC Owned Television stations division. His experience and expertise will continue to be instrumental in shaping the future of the industry under his new role as chief business officer.
