In metro Atlanta, a business owner is facing significant delays in mail delivery due to issues at a recently opened postal distribution center. This has impacted businesses across Georgia, including a small business owner who ships hair products nationwide. Customers who pay for priority or overnight shipping are particularly affected as their packages are not being processed in a timely manner, leading to demands for refunds and upset customers who expect prompt delivery.

The business owner explained that even though he drops off orders daily, they are not scanned in until two to three days later, regardless of the shipping method chosen. This has caused frustration among customers and business owners alike. In response to these delays, Congress has started questioning the Federal Postmaster about the situation.

The Postmaster attributed the issues at the new distribution center in Palmetto to management problems, truck scheduling issues, and machinery difficulties. He expressed hope that operations would return to normal within 60 days. This news brings a glimmer of hope to business owners and customers alike who have been affected by the mail delivery delays.
