Dubai International Airport is gradually returning to normal operations after being affected by an air depression and unprecedented rain. The airport’s Chief Operating Officer, Majid Al-Joker, stated that the focus of the measures taken was on preserving the safety of travelers and work crews.

Operations at the airport began on Thursday morning with domestic travelers being received, and departures being registered after a temporary halt due to the effects of an air depression on transportation. Al-Joker confirmed that the airport systems were not affected by the rain, and water accumulations were quickly addressed. He also mentioned that only the Taxiway experienced some water accumulation due to record-breaking rain levels. Flights were adjusted, postponed, canceled, and diverted to ensure passenger safety and operational clarity.

Terminals 1, 2, and 3 have resumed their services, with a significant increase in passenger traffic, especially in Terminal 3. Al-Joker expects operations to fully normalize within 24 hours despite delays caused by exceptional circumstances such as airport capacity limitations. Despite this, passengers transiting through the airport continued their flights almost normally.

Al-Joker emphasized the importance of cooperation between airport teams, airlines, and service providers in overcoming challenges and ensuring traveler safety. He stated that flights were postponed due to capacity limitations under exceptional circumstances. Al-Joker urged travelers to follow flight schedules closely and assured that planned flights were on schedule.
