Germany’s Lufthansa Airlines is set to launch its new “Allegris” cabin on Airbus A350 planes in May. The cabin upgrade, which has been in development for seven years, is designed to provide a new level of comfort for Lufthansa passengers and will initially be serving Canada and the US. However, the first-class suite with a double bed will not be available until 2024 due to supplier delays.

The rollout of the Allegris cabin will include upgrades to economy, premium economy, and business class. A first-class cabin is also planned, although supplier challenges have caused a delay in its launch until late 2024. The new Allegris cabin design will feature double beds and minibars, among other amenities. Lufthansa CEO Jens Ritter announced the delivery of the first Allegris-equipped airplane, an Airbus A350 named Leipzig, on LinkedIn. The airline plans to start operating the A350 with the Allegris cabin on select North America flights in May, first to Vancouver and then to Toronto. These routes will be part of an introductory phase lasting several months, with routes to the US, initially to Chicago, beginning in late summer 2024.
