An Israeli citizen was detained by Malaysian authorities after arriving in the country with several weapons in his possession. The 36-year-old man, who arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on March 12, was staying at the Jelang Ampong Hotel when he was apprehended.

According to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Hussein, the detainee claimed he came to Malaysia to carry out a murder, but authorities do not believe his story. The Israeli initially said he used a French passport to enter the country but later showed investigators his Israeli passport during the investigation.

The detention of an Israeli citizen has sparked controversy and raised questions about Malaysia’s relations with Israel. Some critics have accused Malaysia of targeting Jews and Israelis in a bid to appease its Muslim majority population. However, Malaysia’s government has denied any such accusations and insisted that it is committed to upholding the rule of law and protecting all citizens regardless of their religion or nationality.
