The weekend’s racing action at Martinsville Speedway saw several winners and losers. One of the standout victories was by Hendrick Motorsports, who became the first Cup team to sweep the top three spots in a race at Martinsville. William Byron took the victory, followed by Kyle Larson in second and Chase Elliott in third.

William Byron had another impressive win, his ninth in the last 44 races with a winning percentage of 20.5%. He has won 11 races since the debut of the Next Gen car in 2022, making him one of the most successful drivers this season. Bubba Wallace also had a strong showing at Martinsville with a fourth-place finish, his best result in 13 career Cup starts at the track. Ryan Preece also made a comeback with a ninth-place result and Carson Kvapil had an impressive debut finishing fourth for JR Motorsports in Xfinity Series at Martinsville.

However, there were some losers from this weekend’s racing as well. Harrison Burton finished 33rd which marks his fourth consecutive result of 30th or worse. Austin Dillon struggled with finishes of 30th or worse four times this season including a 32nd place result at Martinsville despite having Justin Alexander as crew chief for his first race back. Corey LaJoie, after finishing fourth in Daytona 500 had been struggling with finishes of 30th or worse four times this season including a disappointing performance at Martinsville where he finished 32nd . These drivers will be looking to improve their performance and bounce back in upcoming races
