Lady Vols basketball coach Kim Caldwell is thrilled to announce the hiring of Nolan Harvath as the new director of sports performance for the team. Harvath, who has been working with West Virginia’s strength and conditioning staff since December 2020, was officially named to his new role on the Lady Vols basketball staff.

Harvath and Caldwell previously worked together at Division II Glenville State, where they formed a strong bond that helped the team achieve success. Caldwell expressed her excitement about Harvath’s addition to the Lady Vols basketball program, stating that he understands their goals and is dedicated to helping them become the hardest working team in the country.

Before joining West Virginia, Harvath served as director of strength and conditioning at Glenville State from 2018-2020, where he also held the title of assistant athletic director from 2019-2020. In his most recent position at WVU football team, Harvath worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach starting in the spring of 2022. Prior to that, he worked as a consultant for the University of Charleston baseball team from 2016-2020.

Harvath graduated with a degree in exercise science from Southern Indiana University in 2013 before earning a master’s degree in athletic coaching education from West Virginia University (WVU) in 2016. He began his career as a strength and conditioning coach at high schools such East Fairmont High and Morgantown High before joining WVU’s football program staff as an intern before becoming an assistant strength and conditioning coach.

With his wealth of experience and knowledge in sports performance training, Harvath will bring a fresh perspective to the Lady Vols basketball program, which we believe will have a positive impact on their performance on the court.
