In recent years, tattoo artists have been offering semi-permanent freckle tattoos on clients’ faces to achieve a natural, sun-kissed look. However, some individuals have raised concerns about the longevity of these tattoos, comparing them to “tramp stamps.”

The city of Orrville is considering adding tattoo and body piercing shops to its downtown area. A public hearing has been scheduled to discuss this addition. Meanwhile, Genesis Beauty Salons are looking to expand their services by offering microblading, a semi-permanent eyebrow process that is categorized as a tattoo under Health Department regulations.

The request for microblading will be reviewed by the Orrville Planning Commission before undergoing a final decision by the City Council. Additionally, the council has approved the sale of approximately 4.9 acres to GMEG LLC for the construction of an industrial building near Hostetler Road.

The Orrville Fire Department will be conducting monthly tests of tornado sirens on the first Monday of each month, starting on May 6. Safety-Service Director Steve Wheeler assured the community that the city is prepared for the upcoming total solar eclipse, with plans in place for potential traffic management and additional staff availability.

The next council meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15, at City Hall where further discussions on these matters will take place.
