According to a report by ESPN, the Dallas Cowboys are currently in talks with Ezekiel Elliott’s agent. The Cowboys have expressed interest in reunion with the former running back, who spent seven seasons with the team before becoming a free agent in 2023.

Ezekiel Elliott was drafted fourth overall in the 2016 NFL draft and quickly became a standout player for the Cowboys. He earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors during his time with the team and had his best season as a rookie when he rushed for 1,631 yards and scored 16 total touchdowns. However, his performance declined in recent years, with only one 1,000-yard season since 2019. Despite this decline, Elliott’s potential return to the Cowboys is generating excitement among fans.

The departure of veteran running back Tony Pollard has opened up the possibility of Elliott returning to the team. The Titans signed Pollard in free agency and now Elliott is looking for a new team to call home after spending a year with the New England Patriots. The talks between Elliott’s agent and the Cowboys are ongoing and it remains to be seen if they will be able to come to an agreement on a contract.
